Lens Review: Samyang 10mm F2.8 ED AS NCS CS

The Samyang 10mm F2.8 ED AS NCS CS is a manual focus ultra wide-angle prime lens designed specifically for APS-C sensor cameras, available in various mounts including Canon EF-S, Nikon F, and Sony E. With a 35mm-equivalent focal length of approximately 16mm and a broad 109.5° angle of view, this lens is well-suited for interior, architectural, and landscape photography applications. The fast f/2.8 maximum aperture benefits working in low-light conditions. The optical design incorporates one Extra Low Dispersion element and two aspherical elements to reduce chromatic aberrations and distortions, resulting in sharper images. Additionally, a nano crystal anti-reflection coating system (NCS) has been applied to lens elements to reduce surface reflections and prevent lens flare and ghosting for improved light transmission and more contrast-rich imagery. The lens features a built-in petal-shaped hood to help block stray light from causing flare.
