Lens Review: Venus Laowa 17mm f/1.8 MFT

The Venus Laowa 17mm f/1.8 MFT is a compact and lightweight prime lens designed for Micro Four Thirds cameras. Offering a 34mm equivalent focal length, it provides a natural field of view suitable for street, travel, and everyday photography. The bright f/1.8 maximum aperture allows for excellent low-light performance and depth-of-field control. Its manual focus design enables precise focusing, with a minimum focusing distance of 15 cm for close-up shots. The lens features a 7-blade diaphragm for pleasing bokeh and accepts 46 mm filters. Despite its affordability, it delivers sharp and high-contrast images, making it a valuable addition to any photographer's kit.
