Lens Review: Samyang 8mm F2.8 UMC Fisheye II
The Samyang 8mm F2.8 UMC Fisheye II is a compact manual focus fisheye lens designed for APS-C mirrorless cameras. It provides a 180° angle of view, offering a unique fisheye perspective ideal for creative applications, as well as interior and architectural subjects. The fast f/2.8 maximum aperture benefits working in low-light conditions. The optical design includes three extra-low dispersion and two aspherical elements to reduce chromatic aberrations and distortions, producing sharper images. Ultra Multi-Coating (UMC) improves light transmission and suppresses lens flare and ghosting for more contrast-rich, color-neutral images.
