Lens Review: Hasselblad XCD 55mm f/2.5 V
The Hasselblad XCD 55mm f/2.5 V is a standard prime lens designed for Hasselblad's medium format X System cameras. Offering a 43mm equivalent focal length, this lens provides a natural perspective similar to the human eye, making it suitable for documentary, portrait, still life, and daily photography. The bright f/2.5 maximum aperture allows for excellent depth-of-field control and low-light performance. The optical design comprises 9 elements in 8 groups, including two aspherical elements, one ED element, and one specially made large-diameter aspherical element to enhance image quality. The lens features a leaf shutter capable of shutter speeds up to 1/2000s with full flash synchronization at all speeds. An upgraded focusing module with a linear stepping motor ensures fast and accurate autofocus, while the weather-sealed construction enhances durability in various shooting environments.
